Vinyasa Bliss #3 - Sacred Sunday - Featuring Trio Mandili’s Galoba (The Prayer, 2022).
Kate, a Belarusian foreign language academic, explained the Georgian (Europe) folk origins of “Galoba” (The Prayer) in a video posted to Facebook by Trio Mandili in 2022.
Today’s Vinyasa Bliss—Sacred Sunday asana groove was “Galoba” (The Prayer, 2022) by Trio Mandili, a female trio of acapella folk singers from Georgia in Eastern Europe.
The video is from an unsuccessful literary promotion event this Spring titled SENSATION~translation in Rochester, New York. The spokesperson is Kate, a foreign language academic from Belarus.
Kate’s academic study of foreign languages has helped her understand where people are from, the history of their homelands, how their local culture developed, and why they built their societies.
The new SENSATION~translation program uses classic literature, fine art, and music to defend and promote “diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI). While “Galoba” is a Christian religious chant in reverence to God, it influenced us to focus on the science of kinesiology as we practiced yoga this morning.
Kinesiology - also known as human kinetics, is the scientific study of human movement.
**********
The beauty of kinesiology is its inclusivity in various physical activities. It's not just about sports psychology, exercise strength and conditioning, or rehabilitation methods such as physical and occupational therapy.
Kinesiology is also about “mindful movement” while practicing recreational activities and performing arts like sports, dance, athletic drills, and calisthenics. Systemic physical activities such as yoga, acrobatics, martial arts, and dance, deeply rooted in kinesiology, can potentially alleviate various health conditions.
Yoga and other forms of therapeutic exercise can help people cope with ailments such as heart disease, joint inflammation and arthritis, hypertension, and chronic physical pain, offering a ray of hope for those seeking relief.
Through the transformative power of kinesiology, the extravagant expenditure of muscular energy in any form can have profound therapeutic benefits. We have witnessed how kinesiology can heal, renew, and strengthen the body, counter the ravages of aging, and bring a sense of calm to the mind.

These are the gateways that most people have to the science of kinesiology, making it a part of our everyday lives.

“Galoba” (The Prayer) ENGLISH Translation:
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
With tenderness, I stand before thee on my knees.
I ask for neither wealth nor glory.
I won’t debase my holy prayer with earthly matters.
I would wish for my soul to rest in heaven,
My heart to be radiant with love heralded by thee,
Even if they pierce me in the heart:
Forgive them: “Lord, for they know not what they do!”
Even if they pierce me in the heart:
Forgive them: “Lord, for they know not what they do!”
